Photo Essay: History

History. The thing that describes us. It gives us a window into the past, yes. But also a way to see what the future holds. History shows us what we have gone through. How perseverance has shaped us. How structures still stand today. History is ancient castles, mysterious rocks and governmental symbolism. History is a number of things, some you can’t even understand. History is basically what shapes the world, so it’s interesting to see it all put together. Because if you think about it, you’re making history right now.

That includes traveling this year more than I ever have. Reaching my goals and having fun. Living in Washington, I’ve dealt with mountains a lot. They’re amazing. Pure art, standing thousands of feet above me, everywhere I go. So here I’ll show you some of the most amazing mountains I’ve seen. Mountains are the most beautiful form of nature. Head here for some help on altitude sickness, here for some hiking, here for Washington’s best…

Best Places to Visit in 2018

2017 was probably the best year of my life. Yea, it had it’s downs, but overall I got the most done and had the happiest year of my life. I met new people, traveled all over and explored my passion for photography. I traveled tens of thousands of miles by car, train and plane. I took thousands of photos and reached 2,000 views on my website that I released in August. During 2017, I also visited some of the best destinations, both in the US and Peru, some of which took my breath away. So, here are the top 5…

Which State is Right for You

Whether you live in the USA or if you want to come visit, it’s a huge country. And by huge, I mean huge. With 50 states and 1 federal district, it reaches from one ocean to another, and contains 3 major mountain ranges and a variety of ecosystems. Now, if you’re coming from out of the US and want to know where you want to visit, this will help you. You can’t just say “I’m going to the US!” Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. Nope. It should be “I’m going to California!” or “I’m going to Utah!” You need…

Showcasing: Washington

Showcasing is a new series that is based solely on ‘showcasing’ a destination. Whether that destination be a city, state or country, I will show you the best stops. The best experiences. Where to go. What to see. The works. I’ll show you my best photos and stories from there as well. They will come out once a month, as the first blog post in a month. Why I Don’t Think the Smithsonian Museums are Worth It

When I say worth it, I mean worth the time. Not the money. Because they’re free. That’s one of the things that make them pull in more and more tourists. But if you’re time crunched and stressing out about what you can fit in, don’t try and do everything! Just don’t do the Smithsonian Museums! They may have some awesome stuff! They’re great to visit, especially for kids. But not nearly as great as other things, like the national galleries or the white house. But they bored me. They wasted the one day I had in Washington DC. Sorry if I’m…

Business vs Coach vs Sleeper

If you haven’t already seen it, and before reading this, you should definitely go check out Amtrak’s US Rail Pass. Find super cheap deals to see as much of the country as you can. For me, it was $450 to go to 21 states in 2 weeks. I know. That’s what I thought when I first saw it too. Go find more information on it here or here. To sign up for that US Rail Pass, you also need to know what seat to buy. Coach, Business or Sleeper. Let’s quickly describe all of those here for you: Coach: Reasonably comfortable and the…

Why Terrorism Won’t Stop Me from Traveling (And Shouldn’t Stop You Either)

Here’s some interesting statistics. You are more likely to die from obesity than terrorism. A toddler has a higher chance of killing you than a terrorist. In the past 5 years, you were 4 times more likely to be struck by lightning than killed by a terrorist. 4 times!! Unless you’ve been struck by lightning anytime recently, I don’t think you need to be worried. Of course, that doesn’t mean you don’t need to be aware. In 2016, a total of 25,600 deaths occurred via terrorism worldwide (although 6,700 of them were terrorists that died.) Although it seems like a…

Ready for this? I’m excited about this post. To share with you where I want to go most in the world. What things I want to see. What places I want to go. What experiences I want to have. Do I want to go on a safari in South Africa, or a trek in Greenland? I guess we’ll find out. (Note: None of the photos in here are by me because, obviously, I don’t have pictures from any of these places.) 10. Italy Whether you’re interested in the creative Dolomites or beautiful Mediteranean beaches, Italy is surely for you. Or…
