Reflection Lake is often famed as one of the best destinations to get perfect photos of the gigantic volcano that is Mt. Rainier. Of course I agree. I have seen many pictures of it. I haven’t necessarily taken many.
Due to the haze in the area, which has been coming from the fires in both Oregon and British Columbia, visibility is completely cut off, making it impossible to see that far in the distance. As you can see, you can barely make out the mountain.
We arrived in Rainier late, barely making it to sunset at Reflection Lake, which was less than rewarding. I can, however, recommend going to Reflection Lake when the air is clear because I am sure it would be beautiful. Along with the background, there are some great wildflowers. This is the place to be.
